Outdoor Power Equipment Institute and PLANET Invite Media to Joint Press Conference –Thursday, October 25 at 10:00 am in Press Center–

Alexandria, VA – October 2, 2012 – The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) and PLANET today announced a joint press conference at GIE+EXPO, inviting media to come learn about issues, developments and trends impacting the lawn, landscape and outdoor power equipment markets.

OPEI:

OPEI’s president and CEO, Kris Kiser, will discuss key fuel, regulatory and standards issues impacting dealers and small engine, utility vehicle and outdoor power equipment manufacturers and suppliers. Specific topics to be addressed include:

Ethanol 15 and the latest legal developments and consumer awareness efforts,

  • Developments on regulations and harmonization of standards on the domestic and global front,
  • New and upcoming standards for a range of equipment,
  • Final outcome on the Watersense turf limitation, and
  • A first look at a new Public Service Announcement (PSA) for the TurfMutt program, to be rolled out nationally in early 2013.

PLANET:

PLANET president, Norman Goldenberg, will discuss new programs and initiatives, legislative developments affecting the lawn and landscape industry, and he will report on the state of the association.
